I feel so appreciative for your curiosity to learn more about me here!
Hi, my name is Alex, and I'm a sentimentalist.
I love being touched by life.
And I'd love to share with you why I do what I do, why I love what I do, and why I believe in what I do.
Because I have been so personally touched by my own journey, I developed an intense passion for growth and healing work - delving into the intersection of psychotherapy and meditation/mindfulness/spirituality.
Originally I'm from the area of Buffalo, NY, and have also lived in Florida, New Jersey, Costa Rica, and currently reside in the Jerusalem area of Israel.
My path has been a curious one and I celebrate the surprising twists and turns that life can take us on when we allow what is and recallibrate as we go.
How did I get where I am, doing what I'm doing?
I first began therapy work 15 years ago during my Social Work graduate studies at Rutgers as a domestic violence/sexual assault crisis advocate/first responder. My original intent was not to be a therapist when I studied Social Work; I had intended to go into academia as a professor and researcher.
Years later, after moving to Israel, and alongside my own healing journey, I began teaching yoga, and I appreciated how mindfulness, self-compassion, and nervous system regulation had very potent healing effects for me and others. I was so passionate and inspired in seeing how it radically changed my life and those around me that in 2022 I decided to open my private psychotherapy clinic to work more closely with people as they navigate their own healing.
These days I divide my time between teaching weekly yoga classes and meeting one-on-one with clients in my therapy clinic.
In my daily life I am committed to and passionate about growth and connection - which for me means having practices in my life to help me slow down, and stay close, clear, and loving to myself and others - practices such as meditation, vipassana, nature, mindfulness, yoga, trail running, ecstatic dance, therapy, learning, journaling, breathwork and more.
I feel very fortunate to have supportive mentors and teachers that helped guide me along the way. It is within these safe, nurturing relational connections that so much healing and growth happened and continues to unfold.
It's such an honor to support others on their own journey. I'm extremely grateful to do something I feel passionately about, that I find so much joy in, and as a means of providing for my family. I am grateful to contribute to and be part of life energy this way.
